Oocha Mani is owned and operated by Nala Saraswati and his wife, Suravi Saraswati. Together they are a part of the the Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) parampara of Śrī Achyutānanda Das of Kaliñga (Orissa) through their Jyotish guru, Pt. Sanjay Rath.
Nala has devoted his life to the study of Vedic spiritual traditions with a particular focus on Jyotish, gemstone upāyas (remedies), and the art of metal working. With over twenty-three years of experience studying Jyotish and twenty years working as a professional jeweler, he is uniquely qualified to create astrological and therapeutic jewelry as taught in the traditions of Jyotish and Ayurveda.
Nala and Suravi are students within the Jaimini Scholar Program, Parāśara Jyotiṣa Course, and the Śiva Mahāpurāṇa course. They were also students in the Mantra Śāstra Program offered through the Devaguru Bṛhaspati Center. Their esteemed teachers include Pt. Sanjay Rath, Sarbani Rath, and Visti Larsen.
