Oocha Mani is owned and operated by Nala Saraswati and his wife, Suravi Saraswati. Together they are a part of the Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) parampara of Śrī Achyutānanda Das of Kaliñga (Orissa) through their Jyotish guru, Pt. Sanjay Rath.
Nala has devoted his life to the study of Vedic spiritual traditions with a particular focus on Jyotish, gemstone upayas (remedies), and the art of metal working. With over twenty-two years of experience studying Jyotish and working as a professional jeweler, he is uniquely qualified to create astrological and therapeutic jewelry as taught in the traditions of Jyotish and Ayurveda. He has taught courses on Jyotish and Vedic spiritual traditions as a guest lecturer at the Ayurvedic department of SCU (Southern California University of Health Sciences) as well as in independent online courses.
